At the beginning of the year, the Government published Royal Decree-Law 1/2023 of January 10, on urgent measures regarding incentives for labor contracts, which established a series of bonuses for companies that hire people from certain groups.
These hiring aids consist of a bonus on the Social Security contributions paid by the company or the self-employed person for the worker, and come into effect on September 1, 2023.
Which companies can benefit from these bonuses?
All companies can make use of these bonuses, including the self-employed, as well as labor or cooperative societies for the incorporation of working or labor partners, as well as public and private non-profit entities.
To do so, one of the requirements demanded of these companies is to keep the worker registered for at least 3 years from the start date of the contract, transformation, or incorporation of the subsidized worker.
New hiring bonuses that come into effect
This regulatory change brings with it the repeal or modification of existing bonuses up to now. In addition, fixed monthly amounts are established as a bonus, and almost all for permanent contracts.
For companies, new requirements appear regarding being up to date with payments to the Treasury and Social Security, not being disqualified from obtaining subsidies and public aid, and for those with more than 50 employees, having an equality plan.
