Repsol will not be able to increase the number of service stations for one year in 33 provinces, islands, or autonomous cities, as it exceeds the market share of 30%, the threshold established to limit this business growth in the regulations on competition in the hydrocarbons sector.
Specifically, the territories in which the oil company will not be able to grow are: Albacete, Asturias, Ávila, Badajoz, the Balearic Islands, Cáceres, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, A Coruña, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Huelva, Huesca, Jaén, León, Lleida, Lugo, Madrid, Ourense, Palencia, Pontevedra, La Rioja, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Teruel, Toledo, Valladolid, Vizcaya, and Zaragoza, as well as the islands of Formentera, Ibiza, and Mallorca, according to a resolution by the General Directorate of Energy Policy and Mines published this Friday in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
