The National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) has opened an investigation into various operators active in the Spanish energy sector for possible anti-competitive practices.
Sources familiar with the investigation indicated to Europa Press that the investigation focuses on the fuel sector following complaints filed by small operators regarding possible agreements by the major oil companies -Repsol, Cepsa, and BP- to initiate an aggressive discount campaign in recent months.
