THE CNMC MONITORS THE MARKET AFTER DISCOUNTS

Discounts at gas stations have eased the burden on consumers and, in turn, have distorted the business of service stations. While small operators are battling with the Treasury to avoid financial suffocation, large oil companies have entered a spiral of promotions to attract new consumers. This market distortion is being closely monitored by the National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) in recent weeks.
