The new system of incentives and bonuses for hiring (Royal Decree 1/2023, of January 10), will come into force on September 6 and lowers the threshold for employing long-term senior workers, which goes from 50 years of age to 45. Self-employed workers and small Spanish businesses and companies that hire a person with this profile may benefit from these reductions in Social Security contributions. The bonus will be 128 euros per month, that is, they will save 1,536 euros per year when paying the fees of these older workers.
